English Teacher at Talencentrum Defensie

Martijn Prins makes impact with education.

Mar Luijkx (Albion): “Martijn Prins did the Bachelor of Education, Teacher Training Languages – English specialization at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, after which he completed the Master of Arts – English Language and Culture: Education and Communication Cum Laude at Utrecht University. Martijn worked for 8.5 years in the Royal Army as a reservist and still worsk as a deputy group commander. He also works as an English teacher at HU and as an English teacher (captain, OF-2) at Talencentrum Defensie.

Martijn himself says he has a broad interest in education as well as defense and language and tries to connect these three areas as much as possible. In September 2022, he also received the Gerard Westhoff Language Didactics Prize from Expertise Center Modern Foreign Languages, an award for the best thesis in the field of foreign language didactics, for his master’s thesis: The Sergeants Speak: Identifying the Language Needs of the Royal Netherlands Army.
