Naomi van Manon from Study Association Awater: “Maria van Leeuwen proves that your study within the Humanities – in which everybody constantly asks you what your job perspective is – can get your career started in no time. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Dutch Language and Culture she followed the Research Master in Dutch Literature and Culture. While following this Master, she was a research intern of cultural heritage at the Government Service for Cultural Heritage. To realise the goal of the project – giving policy advise in the form of a film on dealing with the shared heritage between the Netherlands and Surinam because of the colonial history – she went on a working visit to Paramaribo, where she interviewed local stake holders. After having successfully finished the project, she made an interesting career switch last year – having been inspired by the Career Night! She currently works as a consultant for privacy and information security at CRANIUM. Internal and external communication related to privacy and data protection is exactly what she concerns herself with. At the Career Night, Maria will share how exactly she got her career started so very quickly – given the fact that this is the dream of any student who has just obtained their degree, you will not want to miss this!”
