Safirah Dijkstra works as a Dramaturg at VPRO and HUMAN. She studied Theatre, Film and Television Studies (now Media and Culture) in Utrecht. During her student days she was also active in the study association, holding the role of president at AKT. After this she held various positions, she did internships at the Dutch Film Festival, Ijswater Films and Amstelfilm. Then she held various marketing positions, worked as a guest lecturer at the Film Academy and now works full time as a Dramaturg at HUMAN and VPRO. Safirah Dijkstra is werkzaam als Dramaturg bij de VPRO en HUMAN. Ze studeerde Theater-, film- en televisiewetenschappen (tegenwoordig Media en Cultuur) in Utrecht. Tijdens haar studententijd was ze ook actief bij de studievereniging, ze vervulde de rol van voorzitter bij AKT. Hierna heeft ze verschillende functies vervuld, ze liep stage bij het Nederlands Film Festival, Ijswater Films en bij Amstelfilm. Vervolgens heeft ze verschillende marketing functies vervuld, is ze werkzaam geweest al gastdocent bij de Film Academie en nu werkt ze fulltime als Dramaturg bij HUMAN en bij de VPRO.
