Loudi Langelaan (2022)

Youth Organiser – Friends of the Earth, Freelance Journalist

Daniel van Rie (FUF): “Loudi Langelaan studied Philosophy and finished her bachelor in 2016. After this she went on to do a masters degree in Applied Ethics. During her masters she did an internship at OneWorld for which she wrote numerous articles. She was always concerned with climate crisis-related issues (which was also the subject of both her bachelor and master thesis) and worked on various campaigns. One example is the work she did for GroenLinks during the election campaign in 2021 for which she wrote articles related to their climate change policies. She worked as a freelance journalist focused on sustainability and climate change and has written for websites and newspapers like AD, OneWorld and Elsevier. She is currently Youth Organizer at Friends of the Earth/Milieudefensie. Next to that she is involved in other groups in the climate movement, like Extinction Rebellion. In 2020 Loudi set up De Luchtfietsers, which is a collective of cycling activists that are committed to fighting climate change and dreaming of a better and more equal world.”
