During Humanities Career Night, you and 300 to 400 other students from your faculty will discover the possibilities for after your studies. Curious about what the future holds?    

Talk to former students (alumni), meet organisations from the work field, attend workshops, have a professional profile photo taken and your CV checked! After this evening, you will have a better idea of what you can do after your studies and how to get there.

    Erin Bijl

    Project Lead, Protection of Civilians @ PAX for Peace 


    Erin works at the NGO PAX as Project Lead for the Protection of Civilians. In this role, she coordinates research projects in various (post-)conflict areas. She joined PAX as an intern, subsequently worked as a Senior Project Officer, and has held her current position for two years. During this period, she co-authored the book “On Civilian Harm”, helping lead research into civilian casualties resulting from Dutch military deployment in Hawija, Iraq. 

    Education: German Language and Literature (BA) (including a minor in Conflict Studies and Human Rights, a minor in Italian Language and Culture, and a semester at Freie Universität Berlin); Conflict Studies & Human Rights (MA).

    Imke van Dam

    Policy Advisor for Education @ Faculty of Science UU

    Imke works as a Policy Advisor for Education at the Faculty of Science of the UU. Their responsibilities include updating and coordinating the Education and Examination Regulations (EER), exploring opportunities for professional development for teaching staff, and serving as a member of the Faculty Council. During their bachelor’s programme, Imke was actively involved in the study association Albion, the Humanities Study Associations Consultation (SVO), and served as a student assessor.

    Prepare for an EU/BZ Career

    EU Careers Ambassador

    Our UU EU Careers Ambassador tells you all about working at the EU; what options are there in terms of jobs, internships or traineeships? And how do you get in? The speakers will discuss why the EU is interesting for your career, what you can do there, and which institutions, agencies, and institutions you can work for. They will also discuss various EU selection procedures and tips on how to stand out. The speakers will draw from their own experience. At the end of the workshop, you can ask them all your questions.
